MEET
DR. BRAD
People often aske me how-and why- I became a chiropractor. The short answer? One adjustment changed my life and put me back on the path towards my goals. If that’s enough for you, you can stop reading here. But if you want the deeper story, here it is.
As a kid, I struggled for years with chronic ear infections. I went through multiple surgeries to have tubes placed in my ears, and when those stopped helping, I simply learned to live with the pain of ruptured eardrums. On top of that, I was highly involved in sports, especially football.
Going into my senior year of high school, I suffered a neck injury during the first game of the season. I played offensive line, and after one collision, I completely lost the ability to lift my right arm. I tried to hide it, but I was eventually pulled from the game—and later told I would never play again. A medical consultation confirmed what I feared: surgery was the only option, and my football career was over.
Desperate for another way, I turned to a friend whose dad was a chiropractor. After doing a full exam and taking X-rays, he gave me my first adjustment. Instantly, I felt something change. Over the next few days and a few more visits, my arm regained strength and mobility. I went back to my doctor and passed all functional tests—no surgery needed, and I was cleared to return to play.
That adjustment not only saved my senior season, but it changed the trajectory of my life. I went on to get recruited to play at Wheaton College, and even more remarkably, I stopped having ear infections altogether. It was during my time at Wheaton that I met my amazing wife and decided to pursue chiropractic as my calling
After much thought, we chose Traverse City as the place to plant roots. And now, I run a family-centered chiropractic practice focused not just on treating injuries- but on raising healthier kids and families from the start.
